Again with Ferreterías EPA

Once again, Fundación La Tortuga will benefit from the "Ayudar es Sencillo" program of Ferreterías EPA, which consists of voluntary contributions from customers when paying for their purchases. Last year, thanks to the contribution obtained, the "RAO Anzoátegui"/ Red de Aviso Oportuno Project was formally launched, which has just completed its first year of work by monitoring sea turtle populations in the state of Anzoátegui.

Once again, Fundación La Tortuga will benefit from the "Ayudar es Sencillo" program of Ferreterías EPA, which consists of voluntary contributions from customers when paying for their purchases. Last year, thanks to the contribution obtained, the "RAO Anzoátegui"/ Red de Aviso Oportuno Project was formally launched, which has just completed its first year of work by monitoring sea turtle populations in the state of Anzoátegui.

The project offers free training to all people interested in the protection and conservation of sea turtle populations, through lectures and specialized workshops that provide accurate and scientific information about these reptiles, in addition to teaching the tools to proceed in case of events with these animals. By the end of the first year, the figures speak for themselves: more than 800 people sensitized and informed about the most important details of the life cycle; around 20 beaches monitored; more than 30 nests counted and up to 52 baby turtles released.

This new contribution is very important because it means continuity in the field trips that will allow us to continue increasing the database and at the same time, the opportunity to continue reaching more people to invite them to the work of protection and conservation. One point to highlight is that this year, the Foundation not only has the Lechería EPA Store, but also the Maturín EPA Store, which will bring as an immediate consequence a high number of people approached with all the necessary information to participate in favor of the environment, since many of the Monaguense customers like to enjoy the beautiful beaches of Mochima National Park and share with the Anzoatiguenses their concern and desire to help the natural environment.

Fundación La Tortuga invites all the people who visit this important chain of hardware stores to participate in the program "Ayudar es Sencillo" that will be developed in the EPA stores in Lechería and Maturín from October 1st to December 31st and collaborate with this beautiful project that brings so much benefit to the marine world, since sea turtles play an extraordinary role in nature, as do all living species on the planet. They maintain the biological diversity in coral reefs, increase the productivity of sea grasses, control populations of predators of other species, among others.
