As part of the activities carried out within the framework of the celebration of the 7th anniversary of the Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Seguridad (UNES), Fundación La Tortuga was invited to give a talk to a group of students and teachers.
At its headquarters located in the Simon Bolivar Sports Complex in the city of Barcelona, a very pleasant time was shared, talking and sharing environmental information, necessary in the curriculum of these citizens.
The Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Seguridad UNES was born as a result of tireless struggles of human rights activists, researchers, teachers, police officers, who supported the processes generated by the National Commission for Police Reform (CONAREPOL).
The Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Seguridad UNES is the specialized university institution in charge of the professionalization and integral development of theturtlefoundation security officers in the country.
With a basic common curriculum and with diversification according to the disciplines and specialized areas of the service, UNES assumes the challenge of consolidating citizen security bodies at the service of the Venezuelan people that are transparent, ethical, reliable, efficient, open to popular participation, to social control and adjusted to the fulfillment of citizens’ rights and liberties.
The UNES will permanently train the officials of the following security bodies:
The Bolivarian National Police.
State and Municipal Police Corps.
Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistic Investigations Corps.
Firemen and Firewomen Corps.
Civil Protection and Disaster Management Corps.
Penitentiaries.
Technical Corps of Surveillance and Land Transit.
La Tortuga Foundation thanks the UNES team, and especially Mariela Canache, for the opportunity to visit the facilities, share with the students and bring a message of conservation.
Congratulations on your 7th Anniversary!
