Last Saturday, August 9, a large group of young people gathered at the headquarters of Fundación La Tortuga to collaborate in the sorting of plastic caps by color.

Throughout the day, young people belonging to the Community Service of the Universidad de Oriente and the School of Martial Arts "The 6 styles of Kung Fu", classified this material by colors to collaborate with the required order to achieve the greatest success: to help children with cancer in Venezuela.

"Tapas por Vidas" is an organization formed by a group of young students from Valencia who, emulating initiatives from other countries, managed to start this initiative that has moved the whole country around the collection of plastic caps of any container.

Fundación La Tortuga, being a collection center, has an endless number of caps accumulated donated by volunteers who love good causes and have been traveling to Valencia thanks to the support of sensitive people, among them, Mrs. Laly González.

In our country, where the recycling industry is not fully developed due to high investment costs, non-compliance with environmental laws, and lack of sensitivity, this project has raised an uncontainable wave of desire to help these children, since with the sale of the lids contributions are made to organizations that work with them and their relatives, bringing some relief to these family groups.

With this type of event the message is simple: the more you collect and classify, the bigger your help to the children will be...you decide the size of your contribution!

Follow us on our website and social networks, bring your lids and be present at the next sorting events...don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the change by helping children and nature.
