Recently, Fundación La Tortuga (FLT) visited the state of Delta Amacuro to carry out an educational and informative activity on water. The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) gave a talk to students of the Instituto Universitario de Tecnología Dr. "Delfín Mendoza", in Tucupita, in which the water resource and the difficulties it faces were the main focus.

The dynamic was led by Chelo Nogueira, vice-president of FLT, who took a message of awareness and sensitization to this entity that has the imposing Orinoco River. Nogueira explained that the meeting not only sought to disseminate the work and recommendations that the Foundation has to face the problem of the vital liquid, but also to listen to the students’ opinion regarding this issue. "The fact that they live near the river gives them an arduous experience of how water can be treated. This exchange of knowledge is vital for the Foundation to be able to draw conclusions and disseminate new ideas."

The event, held as part of World Water Day, was supported by Professor Héctor Figueroa, who expressed his appreciation for the environmental organization’s visit. Figueroa expressed his desire to continue working together in the educational field, where the students of the technological school could work together with FLT, as part of their professional training.

The objective of these activities is to promote the value of water resources in daily life and in economic productivity, so FLT will continue to disseminate its conservationist messages in order to improve the treatment given to water and thus prolong its existence.
