RAO Anzoátegui, the research, and education project with sea turtles of La Tortuga Foundation participated in the last two Environmental Congresses held in the country, showing the results of three years of continuous work.

Thanks to the support received by allies such as Domotica de Venezuela and Gran Cacique Express, part of the work team brought the conclusions that from 2011 to December 2014, has accumulated from their tours along the coasts of the state of Anzoátegui and Mochima NP.

In the city of Cumaná, the 1st Oceanology Congress was held, where the team had the opportunity to present orally the work done in the educational aspect: more than 3,800 people (mostly school children) have received in their classrooms lectures and dramatizations on the subject of sea turtles. Likewise, the techniques and resources through which meetings are held with teachers and communities were also presented, in order to raise awareness among as many people as possible about such a delicate issue as endangered fauna.

The second opportunity was presented at the XI Venezuelan Congress of Ecology in the city of Porlamar (Nueva Esparta State). This Congress is the most important in Venezuela, since it brings together the work and research carried out by the entire professional scientific movement in the country.  For this opportunity, the results of the monitoring of the coasts of Mochima National Park during the period 2011 - 2014 on sea turtles were presented in poster format, drawing attention to the presence of important activity with these reptiles despite the intense impact that these natural scenarios receive.

The RAO Anzoátegui team thanks all the people who showed interest and accompanied them to attend these two events, which undoubtedly provided the opportunity to show the intense, responsible, and consistent work of the environmental institution.
