World Earth Day, a day of fun and reflection

On Sunday, April 22nd at the Central Plaza of the Plaza Mayor Shopping Center, La Tortuga Foundation presented the program "Objective Earth 2012" where children and adults could enjoy the fabulous books made by the children of the José Ángel Montero Educational Unit, made with different materials: some from reuse (lids, cans, plastics...), others from elements extracted directly from nature (pistachio shells, flowers, leaves, branches...) through which they took us through diverse manifestations of nature, birds, trees, butterflies, etc.

Ecological awareness, dance, gastronomy and alliances. In order to provide a different weekend, La Tortuga Foundation opened its doors to the theturtlefoundation to present "Tribal Projection", an event that took place throughout the weekend with free dances, yoga, tribal and ecological bazaar, ethnic and fusion tribal dance, dance classes, performance and live Balkan music with the Carakaos Group.

A Dance for the Planet

Last Thursday, Fundación La Tortuga held an event in Rolando Square, in front of the silent gaze of the Cajigal Theater, which is currently under restoration. The activity began with a recycling workshop given by Professor Manuel Yepez, an instructor dedicated to giving life to an endless number of objects made from recycled materials, accompanied on this occasion by Mayrelis Palacios, Yosetlyn Palomo, and Maigualida Suarez.

One more step in the project "JANOKO YAKERA"

Fundación La Tortuga (FLT) once again visited the state of Delta Amacuro to continue the cultural exchange with the Warao population living in the area. During the stay, an expedition was carried out to advance the "JANOKO YAKERA" project that the Warao community of El Moriche has been developing with the support of FLT, an initiative integrated by its cacique Abel Palacios, the coordinator Maya.shita Palacios and the artisan Raquel Palacios.

Ambientarrrt closed cycle of presentations in Madrid

The spaces of the Matadero Cultural Center, in the municipality of Arganzuela, showed, for five days, a show full of originality, fashion, and ecology. Ambientarrrt is the name of this program developed by Fundación La Tortuga since 2009, which this time broke borders and moved to the capital of Spain, to exhibit photographs, art pieces, performance, and modeling with conservationist messages.

Ambientarrrt left its mark in Caracas

Much has been said about the serious problems that threaten the environment, so Fundación La Tortuga (FLT) spreads part of the possible solutions in an original way. The Ambientarrrt program transmits conservation ideas through performance, fashion, video, and music and in its 2010 edition moved to Caracas to offer a simple show full of creativity and fun.

La Tortuga Foundation (FLT) through its Ambientarrrt program celebrated Earth Day with a small show where creativity reigned. Despite power failures that delayed the activity scheduled at the Dimitrios Demu Museum, the event took place under an ecological environment and carried the conservationist message that is the north of this Non-Governmental Organization.

FLT gave conservationist talk in Delta Amacuro

Recently, Fundación La Tortuga (FLT) visited the state of Delta Amacuro to carry out an educational and informative activity on water. The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) gave a talk to students of the Instituto Universitario de Tecnología Dr. "Delfín Mendoza", in Tucupita, in which the water resource and the difficulties it faces were the main focus.

Cultural exchange with the Waraos

The Warao population and the La Tortuga Foundation strengthened the support and interaction project between both cultures, in which the indigenous communities that inhabit Delta Amacuro will continue to receive information and specialized guidance from the foundation and at the same time will teach their knowledge in order to make the best use of waste. The objective of the alliance is to optimize the impact on the environment.
