Thanks to the contribution of private enterprise, La Tortuga Foundation has launched its "Virtual Environmental Education Room", with the incorporation of computer equipment that will facilitate access to information for the general
The project in question is part of a whole development for this space that the organization hopes to consolidate and turn it into the Documentation Center of the environmental institution and that, once completed, will be called "Daniel Camejo Octavio Room", in honor of the architect of the El Morro Tourist Complex.
With the help received from the operator Digitel through its "Fondo de Conexión Social FIS" program and from the Organization Venezuela Sin Límites, the Virtual Room is now a reality. With Internet connection, the computers will be used so that people who need them, have the means to access information for their own human development. Aimed at the general theturtlefoundation, distance education is included so that populations such as El Moriche (Warao community of Delta Amacuro) can learn techniques to reuse materials considered waste and thus strengthen their economic activities.
DIGITEL AND THE SOCIAL CONNECTION FUND
The main objective of Digitel’s Social Connection Fund is to channel, through the Regional Managements, financial resources to social development organizations at the local level, in order to promote the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in their management and as part of the projects they carry out for the welfare of the communities.
Social responsibility programs and projects are mainly aimed at strengthening the performance of Social Development Organizations working in the areas of education, health, and the environment through the use of technology. These are aimed at strengthening their work, creating spaces for exchange, and sharing successful experiences to achieve a greater benefit for the neediest groups.
VENEZUELA SIN LIMITES FOUNDATION
Since 1999, it has contributed to the technical and economic strengthening of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) through actions characterized by a commitment to social action, responsibility in the collection and use of resources, solidarity with social causes aimed at benefiting the poor, and honesty in the accountability of the resources granted.
Its efforts are focused on the consolidation of a work team that promotes the effective channeling of resources through strategic alliances with companies from different economic sectors throughout the country.
They have especially supported NGOs registered at the national level, in order to create networks of institutions with the capacity to execute social actions of significant impact under the approach of continuous linkage with strategic allies.
In summary, Fundación Venezuela sin Límites has programs that are presented as an opportunity to channel efficient social investment and whose interest is to contribute to the strengthening of Venezuelan NGOs.
