Last Saturday, August 3, the parade "El Tortuguillo" was held at the headquarters of Fundación La Tortuga with the attendance of a large group of attendees and the spectacular catwalk by models and dancers belonging to the Betty York Modeling Academy.
This parade was an event conceived thanks to the voluntary work of the students of the University of Santa Maria Patricia Sanchez and Genesis Liendo, who devoted themselves to the event with great enthusiasm and vocation.
In this opportunity we could enjoy a sample of Warao robes, which are part of the "Warao-Jotarao" Project that La Tortuga Foundation has been working on since 2010 as an initiative to support and rescue the culture of this ancestral Venezuelan ethnic group.
The event was also an opportunity for the girls of the catwalk to show off a sample of spectacular jewelry made from plastic containers, as a message of conservation and implementation of one of the Ecological R’s: Reuse. Also on display were some beautiful and very simple sandals for the beach, which dress the foot in a delicate and attractive way.
Fundación La Tortuga is grateful for the initiative of the young students for their concern for the good treatment of nature and for the human contribution to the environmental team of this institution.
