The size of the sea turtles is the most striking thing about them

The children of UE Inés María de Potentini, located in the Tierra Adentro sector of Puerto La Cruz, received a visit from La Tortuga Foundation on July 15 to receive an educational talk about sea turtles.

More than 200 students from the elementary school gathered in the library and several classrooms in order to listen to the interesting talk with details of the life and problems faced by this reptile on the planet.

"What most catches the children’s attention is the size of the turtles," reports the General Coordinator of the Educational Project of this Timely Warning Network, Gaizkale Garay. She comments that the photos where turtles can be seen with human beings attract a lot of attention since they do not imagine that they can be so big.

This talk is accompanied by a short video of the moment of nesting of the sea turtle and the subsequent hatching of the baby turtles with the usual look of amazement and nervous laughter when watching these shots.

The Educational Unit also received the donation of an informative banner and two copies of the book "Conservation and Protection of Sea Turtles".

Once again, La Tortuga Foundation fulfills this work of sensitizing and educating the population of the future with this project as interesting and beautiful as RAO Anzoátegui.
