Throughout November 5, the U.E. Dr. Julio Camejo in Barrio Corea in Barcelona, received a visit from Fundación La Tortuga and the company Domotica de Venezuela to reinforce knowledge on the subject of conservation, once the guidelines of the State Collective of Environmental Management of the Minamb had been fulfilled.
Last Monday, October 14, La Tortuga Foundation attended a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of People’s Power for the Environment with other organizations of the state of Anzoátegui that make up the State Environmental Education Collective, in order to join this work for the environment.
During the month of September, RAO Anzoátegui members responded to several calls reporting sea turtle hatchlings on Anzoátegui beaches.
During the last outing of the RAO Anzoátegui team, remains of abandoned fishing nets were found on the shores of the beaches. These plastics are silent killers because much marine fauna is trapped in them with no chance of survival.
Last Saturday, August 3, the parade "El Tortuguillo" was held at the headquarters of Fundación La Tortuga with the attendance of a large group of attendees and the spectacular catwalk by models and dancers belonging to the Betty York Modeling Academy.
For the members of RAO Anzoátegui, who monthly walk kilometers of beaches within the sea turtle study, Mochima National Park offers to every visitor or local the most spectacular and varied landscapes, only interrupted by the sight of large amounts of garbage and where disposable diapers are found more and more, thrown on the sands of the beaches of the state.
The children of UE Inés María de Potentini, located in the Tierra Adentro sector of Puerto La Cruz, received a visit from La Tortuga Foundation on July 15 to receive an educational talk about sea turtles.
"Before initiating any tourism project in La Tortuga, it is necessary to restore the sector environmentally devastated in 2007."
In the last tour of the members of RAO Anzoátegui, last May 17, the regular companion to each of the walks was the garbage that floods our coasts.
