Ambientarrrt closed cycle of presentations in Madrid

The spaces of the Matadero Cultural Center, in the municipality of Arganzuela, showed, for five days, a show full of originality, fashion, and ecology. Ambientarrrt is the name of this program developed by Fundación La Tortuga since 2009, which this time broke borders and moved to the capital of Spain, to exhibit photographs, art pieces, performance, and modeling with conservationist messages.

Ambientarrrt left its mark in Caracas

Much has been said about the serious problems that threaten the environment, so Fundación La Tortuga (FLT) spreads part of the possible solutions in an original way. The Ambientarrrt program transmits conservation ideas through performance, fashion, video, and music and in its 2010 edition moved to Caracas to offer a simple show full of creativity and fun.

Creativity reigned in Ambientarrrt 2010 event

La Tortuga Foundation (FLT) through its Ambientarrrt program celebrated Earth Day with a small show where creativity reigned. Despite power failures that delayed the activity scheduled at the Dimitrios Demu Museum, the event took place under an ecological environment and carried the conservationist message that is the north of this Non-Governmental Organization.

Monitoring of the El Morro canals continues

As part of the preliminary evaluation activities that Fundación La Tortuga has been developing for more than two years in the canals of Lechería, a previous step for the development of the Water Quality Evaluation Project of the Canals of the El Morro Tourist Complex, a new field trip was made to relocate the positions of the stations that will be used for this monitoring, as well as to add others in areas that were not initially foreseen.

FLT launches the "Adopt a Turtle" program

Through a press conference, Fundación La Tortuga announced its plan to adopt sea turtles in order to protect these marine species through their sponsorship. The project will be developed in conjunction with the Nueva Esparta Sea Turtle Working Group (GTTM-NE) and seeks to integrate children, youth, and adults in interactive events in order to finance conservation activities.

FLT gave conservationist talk in Delta Amacuro

Recently, Fundación La Tortuga (FLT) visited the state of Delta Amacuro to carry out an educational and informative activity on water. The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) gave a talk to students of the Instituto Universitario de Tecnología Dr. "Delfín Mendoza", in Tucupita, in which the water resource and the difficulties it faces were the main focus.

Anthropology at La Tortuga Foundation

Within the framework of the alliances that La Tortuga Foundation seeks to establish with the indigenous peoples of the Delta Amacuro and in its desire to achieve a better interaction with the environment and better use of resources, in harmony with the indigenous communities, La Tortuga Foundation received at its headquarters the anthropologist Ronny Velásquez.

Cultural exchange with the Waraos

The Warao population and the La Tortuga Foundation strengthened the support and interaction project between both cultures, in which the indigenous communities that inhabit Delta Amacuro will continue to receive information and specialized guidance from the foundation and at the same time will teach their knowledge in order to make the best use of waste. The objective of the alliance is to optimize the impact on the environment.

Respect for La Tortuga Island is also respect for the ecological and human history of the country

Inventories and new records of birds, morphological analysis of vegetation, monitoring and study of sea turtle populations, clear identification of problems that threaten the various species, and surveys on marine sponges, algae, and corals, are part of the advances of the Biological and Oceanographic Characterization project that La Tortuga Foundation has been carrying out for several years in the Federal Unit La Tortuga Island, in order to understand the ecological dynamics of the place and preserve it, not for a whim or simple scenic delight, but for its high environmental value as a biosphere reserve.
